It has been a busy two months for us attending numerous events, including charter brokerage open days, high-profile VIP events and yacht club networking evenings. Aside from networking, being present at relevant events means we are getting valuable in-person feedback about Guest Trip, alongside forging new connections within luxury and yachting sectors, including business aviation, shipyards and charter management.
Some of the events we’ve attended recently include the following:
The “Welcome to the Med” crew party at the IYCA yacht club at Port Vauban in Antibes. It was great to meet lots of crew and hear from superyachts about their charter itineraries for a range of destinations, including Sardinia, Croatia and Greece.
The 15th edition of the Historic Grand Prix in Monaco was another great event with some spectacular classic cars ranging from pre-war cars, front- and rear-engined F1 cars, sports prototypes, Formula Juniors, and turbocharged single-seaters, featuring a broad range of motorsport history from Bugatti, Lotus, McLaren and Maserati. There was a special Cavallino Classic Ferrari parade showcasing single-seaters, including the F300 driven by Michael Schumacher in 1998 to Kimi Räikkönen’s F2008. Many yachts were present at Port Hercule as a lead-up to the Formula 1 Monaco GP race that was pushed to new dates in the first week of June.
Cannes Film Festival celebrated its 79th edition and as usual, the world’s top superyachts were out in force, including M/Y Alfa Nero, M/Y Luminance, M/Y Multiverse, M/Y Ambassador, M/Y Renaissance and M/Y Lady S. We also caught up with marina representatives, yachting suppliers and the founders of Armada Club.
Northrop & Johnson hosted a brokers' day with 44.6m Feadship-built M/Y Gladiator and 26.2m M/Y Gypzy. Gladiator is fresh out of the MB92 Barcelona yard, and it was great to chat to the crew about the upcoming charter season.
The 31st edition of Les Voiles d’Antibes saw over 50 classic yachts participating in daily regatta events. Thanks go to MHG Insurance for the invitation to sundowners overlooking the port.
Monaco F1 Grand Prix is always a busy event for the yachting industry, with almost 200 superyachts berthed at Port Hercule, Port Fontvieille or at anchor for the 2026 race weekend (source: BOATPro). Superyachts spotted at the 2026 Monaco GP included M/Y Breakthrough, M/Y Amadea, M/Y Symphony, M/Y Force Blue, M/Y Titian Pearl, M/Y Tiny Wave, M/Y Alaiya, and M/Y Stella Maris. There was also an appearance by Explore I from Explora Journeys and Orient Express’ Corinthian.
The IYCA yacht club hosted an industry networking event in partnership with Pendennis Shipyard based in Falmouth and Pendennis Vilanova. Attendees enjoyed sunset networking with luxury businesses represented from crew agencies, shipyards, yacht interiors and private aviation and a lychee wine tasting courtesy of Mauritian-based boutique winery, Takamaka.
Key Findings
Industry conversations are focused on charter yachts that have seen a market slowdown the last two quarters due to global events and volatility with fuel reserves, which follows much of the reporting from the recent ‘Superyacht Report: Captains Focus’ published by The Superyacht Group and ‘The State of Yachting 2026’ published by Superyacht Times.
Smaller charter boats are opting for more localised selective itineraries to reduce fuel burn, and finding alternative solutions for provisioning or bunkering. Yacht charter is experiencing shifts due to geopolitical movement and regulations that have influenced destination choices and refit decisions. Regulations and compliance are a strong factor with where yachts are going - such as the rollout of the Entry/Exit System (EES) in Europe that has created debate and discussion about maritime rules for crew stamping in and out, especially in Italy and Spain.
As a continuity, discussions still revolve around younger yacht owners that are looking for seamless tech and systems such as Guest Trip that bring ease of use and reduce friction across their yachting experiences.
